PhD Event
The Fall Colloquium 2026 will be preceded by a PhD event on 18 November 2026. The workshop is held at the Åbo Akademi campus in Astra, where the Colloquium will continue the following days. The workshop offers doctoral researchers working on environmental social science topics an opportunity to receive constructive feedback on their ongoing research, as well as to network and engage in broader discussions of their research.
The program includes a joint lunch (paid for by organizers), a rapid-fire pitch session in which participants present their research in a concise format (a template for the presentation will be provided for the participants beforehand), a mentoring session where personalised feedback from senior researchers is provided, and a final open discussion.
Following the official workshop, participants are warmly invited to join an informal evening gathering with sauna at the Saaronniemi Winter Swimming, Ruissalo. The area is accessible by the Föli busses from the Turku city centre.
See the full program and locations below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at yhys2026@abo.fi. The same email will be used for submitting manuscripts and presentations.
