NCSR Conference Opens in Turku
The NCSR conference has officially begun in Turku, bringing together researchers from across the Nordic countries and beyond to explore themes of marginalization, vulnerability, and social exclusion.
The conference launched with a welcome word from the conference organizers, followed by an insightful keynote from Associate Prof. Birgitte Schepelern Johansen about the art and ethics of listening, setting the stage for the discussions and exchanges that continue throughout the conference.
The day continued with parallel sessions where researchers presented and discussed their work and concluded with a City of Turku welcome reception hosted by Mari Lahti, 1st Vice Chairperson of the city council, who welcomed the NCSR participants to the city.
The conference continues through August 14, with a keynote presentation from Professor Nando Sigona, panel discussion, and further parallel sessions over the coming days.
