NCSR 2026 Concludes with Discussions, Reflections and a Final Panel
The NCSR conference continued with productive discussions and reflections during the parallel sessions. The second day of the conference featured an insightful keynote by Professor Nando Sigona, “The irregularisation of migration and migrants in Europe: policies, narratives and experiences,” which explored migration and questions of marginalization and vulnerability.

The day concluded with the conference dinner, featuring one of the NCSR conference’s traditions, where researchers from the participating countries give a performance. This year featured unique and creative performances from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and the newest addition to the tradition, the Baltics, or, as their lead performer self-identified, “the Nordic Minorities.”

The final day continued with engaging and informative discussions. A panel discussion brought together young researchers who shared their experiences and perspectives on research ethics, methods development, and research design. The conference concluded with a short presentation by Pål Ketil Botvar on the upcoming round of the NCSR conference at the University of Agder, Kristiansand, Norway, followed by a final word of thanks from Peter Nynäs to the conference organizers and participants.
