Conference Excursion on Wednesday, August 12 (9:00-10:30)

The conference guests can choose to take part in one of two excursion programs organized by the NCSR 2026 conference on Wednesday, August 12 (9:00-10:30).

1. Åbo Akademi University Campus Tour: A walking tour of the Academic Quarters – the historical center for both educational and religious institutional life in Finland. The tour is led by Airi Forssell, former librarian at ÅAU University and an official guide in Turku. It starts at 9.30 at Arken and takes approx. 1.5 hours.
   • The campus tour is free of charge, and no prior registration is needed.
2. Samppalinna Outdoor Swimming Stadium: Come and enjoy the scenic Samp­palin­na Outdoor Swimming Stadium in the middle of the city!
   We’ll meet at Arken at 9:00 and head to the stadium on foot (25-minute walk). You can also arrive directly at the Samp­palin­na Outdoor Swimming Stadium (Address: Volter Kilven katu 2) at 9.30.
   • Admission: adults 8,40€  (everyone pays their own admission) 
   • Please bring your swimwear and a towel. Slippers are handy, too. Swimwear and towels can be rented from the ticket office if needed.
