Psych-AID at the Anti-Gender and Anti-migration Connection – a Nordic Dialogue-Based Conference

Doctoral researcher Malin Ekelund and Project Coordinator Catharina Walldén from the psych-AID network participated in The Anti-gender & Anti-migration Connection – a Nordic Dialogue-Based Conference in Stockholm on 15th April, 2026. The conference, organised by the Mångkulturellt centrum network, brought together researchers, activists, civil society, and religious actors with different forms of knowledge and experience, including academic research, activism, and artistic contributions.

Audience following the conference discussion.

The conference explored the increasing interconnectivity between anti-gender and anti-migration politics across the Nordic region and beyond. Speakers examined how these dynamics intersect, their consequences and how to challenge them. Malin and Catharina described the genuine dialogue-oriented format as spectacular in creating space for open, reflective, and nuanced discussions across disciplines and perspectives. They took the opportunity to have many inspiring meetings and valuable exchanges that will inform future work in the Psych-AID network.

The Psych-AID network also looks forward to welcoming everyone to its conference from 15 to 17 October 2026. More information about the conference can be found here.
