Internship open at SOS for ÅAU students!
SOS is hiring an intern for autumn 2025 to assist with day-to-day tasks and activities at the centre. This internship offers a great opportunity to follow the work of a transdisciplinary research team, to learn more about interdisciplinary marine research, and to acquire and develop useful skills for the future.
The tasks of the intern include:
- event practicalities (e.g., venue bookings and preparations, technical assistance)
- communications (e.g., publishing blog posts and social media updates)
- other general tasks (e.g., meeting arrangements)
The salary is 1500 euros/month. In order to be employed as an intern, you need to be able to receive credits in your in bachelor’s or master’s degree at Åbo Akademi University.
The duration of the internship is either 3 months fulltime or 4 months part-time (50 %) between August and December 2025, according to agreement. In either case, the internship will begin between 15 August and 1 September.
In selecting the intern, we emphasize:
- language skills — fluent written and spoken English is required, fluency in Swedish and/or Finnish is considered an asset
- an interest towards marine and sustainability research, regardless of discipline
- a can-do attitude and reliability — prior experience in organizing events and/or communications tasks is considered an asset
