Sea Seminar: Maritime Spatial Planning and Marine Nature
Dr. Mari Pohja-Mykrä
The presentation will examine how maritime spatial planning (MSP) in Finland integrates marine biodiversity values and protections into its framework—striving to balance the blue economy with the health of our seas. Key challenges and gaps in safeguarding marine ecosystems will be highlighted, from data limitations to the complexities of balancing multiple human uses. Learn how the ongoing MSP cycle is paving the way toward a more sustainable and resilient marine environment.
