Call for Presentations

The Autism Research Network is organising an Autism Research Day on Friday, October 30, 2026 in hybrid format at Åbo Akademi University in Turku and remotely on Zoom. At this event, the worlds of researchers and autism organisations meet – it is an opportunity to meet other researchers and representatives of organisations, and to promote collaboration with autistic adults in Finland.

The theme of the research day is language and communication. We welcome presentations on all kinds of research and research projects concerning the autism spectrum and autistic people that in some way address language and communication. We especially welcome presentations from researchers who are themselves on the autism spectrum. Presentations may focus on any stage of research, from introducing an emerging project to more finished research outputs. Theses and dissertations may also be presented. Research related to other neurodivergent traits is welcome, provided it also relates to the autism spectrum.

Please submit your abstract (maximum 200 words) by August 23, 2026 using the online form https://survey.abo.fi/lomakkeet/17439/lomake.html. Presentations are a maximum of 30 minutes in length, followed by up to 15 minutes for discussion and questions. It is also possible to give 5-minute lightning talks at the event. Please indicate on the form which type of presentation you would like to give. Presentations may be given in Finnish, Swedish and English. Please indicate on the form, which language you will be presenting in, and write your abstract in the corresponding language. Those selected for the programme will be notified of the decisions on 15 September 2026, and the final programme will be published on22 September 2026.

The event is free of charge and can be attended either remotely or in person. Detailed information about the event schedule and practical matters will be provided later. Any questions regarding the event can be directed to atp2026@asy.fi.
