RelEx Presents at the 23rd IAHR Conference in Krakow
By Pablo Vega Romá (RelEx Researcher – Peru Team)

The XXIII International Association for the History of Religions World Congress was held in Krakow, Poland, from August 24 to 30. The event brought together researchers from around the world interested in the study of religion and worldviews, both within and beyond Europe. It was especially significant as it was the first congress to take place in ten years.
The RelEx team presented the progress of their research in Finland, India, and Peru. Their presentations addressed topics such as media representations of the communities involved in the study, the distinctive aspects of religious expressions in each setting, the ethical challenges of the project, and early experiences with data collection.
The session concluded with an open dialogue with the attending scholars, giving the RelEx researchers the opportunity to answer questions about the country case studies and details of their presentations. The team highlighted the importance of its cross-cultural approach and the rigor of its methodology, which together will contribute to building a more comprehensive and comparative understanding of religions in diverse contexts.
