Presentation of a Training Program in Legal Psychology for Finnish Asylum Officials

Postdoctoral researcher Dr. Jenny Skrifvars (Ph.D.) will present her research on a training program she developed for Finnish asylum officials as part of the Invest Flagship Centre’s Brownbag sessions. The title of the presentation is “Developing and evaluating a training program in legal psychology for Finnish asylum officials”. The training program was focused on educating the officials on topics related to the function of human memory and training on interviewing skills, such as formulating relevant interview questions to elicit relevant answers while minimizing errors. The research showed that the training program was very effective and yielded a large effect size (d = 1.67) which lasted even after a 5-month follow-up.

You can get access to the published research article here. You can also check the Psych-AID website for more information about published work on asylum proceedings and other research projects.

The Presentation is on Wednesday, 5 March 11.00-12.00 at Publicum, first floor KH149, Turku, Finland. For more information about the presentation, check the link here.
