Psych-AID Presents at the Nordic Asylum Law and Data Lab workshop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Doctoral researchers Obed Kwame Appiah, Malin Ekelund, and Rasmus Ahlgren represented the Psych-AID research network in the 2025 Nordic Asylum Law and Data Lab workshop. The workshop took place at the University of Copenhagen. It was organized by MOBILE – Center of Excellence for Global Mobility Law, led by Professor Thomas Gammeltoft-Hansen, and gathered researchers on asylum issues within the Nordic Region across a variety of fields, including law, data science, and psychology.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Presentations featured topics including the ethical approaches of employing AI systems in asylum data anonymization, asylum law practices, and theory intersection, improving asylum interviews and decision making, and developing explainable AI systems in asylum decision making. Participants pictured below include the Psych-AID team and Professor Thomas Gammeltoft-Hansen, Professor Amina Memon (Royal Holloway, University of London), and doctoral researchers Maya Hertz and Asta Sofie Stage Jarlner (University of Copenhagen). We look forward to continuing to establish connections and synergies across the Nordic region to develop evidence-based techniques in asylum decision-making!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
