YSF webinar | E34: Sustainability in a Biomedical Laboratory
Greetings fellow scientists and Happy New Year!
We will kickstart our YSF webinar series in 2026 with a theme that should concern everyone: sustainability. In the modern world, everyone should be interested in how to make their everyday life for sustainable, and in this webinar episode we will focus on what that means from the viewpoint of biomedical laboratory research.
Monday the 12th of January at 16:00 Finnish time
The world is drowning in plastic waste and in our daily lives we are often reminded about recycling and other acts of sustainability. But working in a biomedical laboratory, we also produce huge amounts of waste. Thus, how to bring the environmentally conscious mindset to the lab? How to take sustainability into account in your daily life as a researcher?
To discuss these issues, we have invited in our webinar representatives from Corning Life Sciences, specialists in lab sustainability. The fact that Corning has recently won awards as sustainable supplier of lab consumables speaks for the fact that they have concrete actions to suggest for anybody working in a biomedical laboratory.
Speakers:
Antoine Claux – Strategy Deployment Leader, Business Partnerships & Sustainability, Corning Life Sciences
Alex Ling – Academic Industry Sales Manager for UK, Nordics & DACH region, Corning Life Sciences
