Welcome to the InFLAMES Flagship seminar! This EV-focused seminar is organized in collaboration with the Finnish Society for Extracellular Vesicles (FISEV) and will start with a keynote presentation by Professor Edit Buzás, followed by two EV talks from FISEV members.

Prof. Edit Buzás is an immunologist and a leading expert in extracellular vesicle (EV) research. As Chair of the Department of Genetics, Cell-, and Immunobiology at Semmelweis University, her work has significantly advanced the understanding of EVs, particularly their role in immunological processes. Her research focuses on the isolation and characterization of EVs and their functional relevance in health and disease, emphasizing their potential as biomarkers and therapeutic tools. Prof. Buzás has played a pivotal role in shaping the field of EV research, contributing to standardizing EV measurement and elucidating their immunomodulatory mechanisms. Her groundbreaking findings have been recognized internationally, and in 2022 she was elected President of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV).
