Welcome to “Advanced Bacteriology -Bacteria Friends and Foes” course. Advanced bacteriology course (2 ETCS) starts on 8^th September 2025. Course will give you a wide overview of bacterial world, what are the beneficial bacteria and the role of microbiomes in human health and how to harness bacteria in biotechnological applications. Clinical aspects such as antimicrobial resistance and immune responses in bacterial infections will be lectured as well. This is a joint effort of lecturers from several departments and institutes from UTU.

Course is aimed to doctoral researchers whereas MSc students may attend as well. ÅA students can apply JOO flexible study rights to attend. UTU students can register via Peppi.
