The survey was launched on Baltic Sea Day, Thursday, August 28th, as part of doctoral researcher Jolanda Linsén’s PhD project. The research aims to deepen our understanding of how people recognize, interact with, and emotionally respond to the marine life that surrounds them, offering insights into both ecological and cultural connections to marine biodiversity.

The survey examines familiarity with Baltic Sea species and explores how interactions through work, studies, hobbies, or media shape public perceptions.
