Baltic Sea Day 2026<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Baltic Sea Day is an annual day of celebration in honour of the sea. It is celebrated every year on the last Thursday in August with rallies and events in various locations. SOS is part of the Baltic Sea Day program in Turku on 27 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective of the Baltic Sea Day is to encourage people to enjoy our unique sea and to take concrete actions that benefit it. In addition to the celebrations, the purpose of the day is to provide information on the versatile nature, culture, and history of the Sea. The Baltic Sea Day was launched by John Nurminen Foundation in 2019 and today events are organised in eight coastal countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Turku, the Baltic Sea Day will bring together city residents and organizations involved in Baltic Sea issues outside Forum Marinum on 27 August from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the event, you can explore the exhibition booths, learn about current maritime initiatives, and reflect on what matters to us regarding the future of the Baltic Sea and the waters of Turku. The afternoon will also feature live music and fun activities for all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SOS will showcase our research related to maritime transport and the Baltic Sea ecosystem and talk about the solutions researchers are seeking to ensure the well-being of the sea. In addition, there will be an impressive Lego marine environment where the interaction between human activity and the sea comes to life in a playful way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come explore, ask questions, and be inspired by marine research\u2014you can also spin the wheel of fortune and win prizes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
